For more than 25 years, I had the good fortune to earn my living as a designer in both small studios and in-house corporate environments, as well as servicing a diverse range of freelance clients. My career spans from the days of mechanical paste-up and drafting boards, through the rise of the Macintosh, and now the delivery of content in a world beyond print. I’m an award-winning, multi-discipline, and tech-savvy graphic designer who is able to communicate both visually, verbally, and in writing, with a proven track record of achieving excellence without losing sight of deadlines and the bottom line.

My passion for design is rivaled only by a passion for the technology used to create it, and to make the process as efficient and flexible as possible. I believe that technology is not a replacement for time-honored, design solutions, it’s a tool that, when properly applied, allows more time for creativity and exploration.

Over the years, I’ve endeavored to pass much of that technological knowledge on to as many of my fellow designers as possible through seminars and speaking engaments, books and articles I’ve written, video training courses, in my role as a Creative Director, and via a free podcast centered around Adobe InDesign.

In 2015, I shifted gears and took on a role as a Digital Media Solutions Consultant for Adobe Systems, Inc., acting as a technical liaison between Adobe and its enterprise customers in the media and entertainment industry. In that role, I work to connect customers with relevant solutions from Adobe and its partner ecosystem, communicate customer needs back to the business unit, and demonstrate new Adobe technologies. This has also afforded me the opportunity deliver workshops for organizations like Girls Who Code and deliver lab sessions to large audiences at Adobe MAX.
